Mark Breeze Interview

Mark Breeze

One of the biggest names in Hardcore and Clubland recently gave up some of his time to talk to us, too kind!

Incase you somehow didn't know Mark is an multi award winning DJ/Producer and has worked with some of the biggest names in the dance scene, most famously as one half of the duo, Styles & Breeze, with several top 20 hits back in the early noughties.

Recently Mark has been slaving away with his own record label, Futureworld bringing some new artists to the forefront, taking center stage with plenty more new artists to follow.

Mark, how have you been?

Busy … but I wouldn't want it any other way :)

What's been your highlight of 2011?

There has been lots of things this year actually, one was finding some fantastic artists for my label 'Futureworld' and helping them be artists and to express their music.

Playing at HTID 41 and trying the new sound I'm pushing, it really reminded me of the sound myself and Darren pushed in 2001 and how exciting it was back then.

And after turning down so many offers to play in the US over the last few years, I decided to go and play at Kandiland, AZ and was blown away by the 3000 strong crowd that came out!! People drove from far and wide across the states some making the trip over 12 hours, that kind of commitment really does blow me away!

The recent album 'Our Sound' was a great success, what's next for Futureworld?

The boys are already working on their next album, but in the mean time I have something like 6 artist albums already under way from the label, from the likes of Static, Eufeion, Hoodzie, Ben Defekt and a few secret ones .. so stay tuned :)

What can people expect from Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 8?

This time it has been really exciting as we have really gone and expressed a real varied track listing and hardly any of the typical chart remixes are included because 'Hardcore' music in general this year has been so strong and well produced it had to feature a lot more.

What's the plan for 2012? One big rave?

I really want to get across that hardcore / rave music isn't just about one style, it needs all styles and keeping my sets fresh and varied, I have a few big things coming in both music and events, so there's a lot to come. It's exciting times.

Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 8 is out 16th Jan 2012 - Pre-Order now!
